1890s Farmhouse Bathroom Remodel
We updated two bathrooms in this century-old farmhouse.
While retaining the existing wood floor, we installed two new pedestal sinks
with updated faucets and handles. We also installed the new vanity lights you
see pictured.

Off to the right of the vanity area, you can see the side of the new built-ins
we installed. This
built-in cabinet has bead board running along the back, mimicking the bead board
found throughout the bathroom. The use of pedestal sinks limits available
space for necessary bathroom items, but attractive cabinets like the one
pictured here help alleviate the problem.

We also retiled the shower in
this bathroom, using subway tiles and adding two corner shelves, as you can see
on the right. A new toilet was installed to match the new vanities.

The second bathroom in the house had a different configuration, as you can see in the pictures below. We replaced the toilet and re-tiled the shower, as we did in the first bathroom, and installed the new vanity shown here. The new pendant lights we installed and ornate mirror really make the bathroom feel rich, as though it belongs in the Gilded Age when it was first built.
