1920s Remodel

We refurbished the existing wooden stairs and kept as much of the original floor upstairs as was possible.  You can see the rich color of the floor in the picture of the hallway to the left, as well as the floor in the three bedrooms shown here.  In the first two bedrooms, you can also see the unmistakable outline of the front of the house which characterizes this style of home.

Below are pictures of the upstairs guest bathroom.  We installed a new tile floor and all new fixtures, including a new bathtub and shower surround.  The fixtures here are all chrome.  The new vanity countertop is cultured marble with a recessed oval bowl, and we installed a matching medicine cabinet above, with a mirror and a light.

None of the bedrooms upstairs in this home was very large, originally.  We redesigned the entire upstairs in order to be able to add a nice-sized master suite, and to make the existing bedrooms bigger.  This is a picture of the master bedroom, looking in from the door, through the sitting area or nursery, to the bedroom itself.  Because this is the addition off of the back, the flooring is new, chosen to match the existing as closely as possible.  As you walk into the main part of the room, the new master bath is off to the left.

The fixtures for the master bath are in brushed nickel.  The new vanity again has a cultured marble countertop, with a matching piece above serving as mirror, light, and medicine cabinet.  We installed a new tile floor and tiled the master shower surround, with a decorative border inside and down the sides of the front of the shower.
